Bush Reverses Pardon Shortly After Giving It
Bush decided today that the pardon given to Isaac R. Toussie, a 36-year-old New York developer, needed to be reviewed. Apparently several things came to light after he had given the pardon. What that means is that they didn’t do their due diligence. While I am glad President Bush is willing to admit his mistake, somebody screwed up.
The things they found out should not have been that hard. Isaac R. Toussie has a lawsuit against him for being a racist, and his dad gave a very large amount of money to Republicans this election cycle. The houses he sold were of inferior quality than the models used to sell the houses, and the applications were CODED BY RACE. They were also led into segregated instead of integrated neighborhoods. Are you kidding me? How in the world was this information missed until a few hours after the guy gets a pardon.
It’s not like this information would have been hard to find. While I commend Bush for having the guts to admit his mistake, I think it is pretty ridiculous that simple information like this was not looked at before the pardon was issued. Let me know what you think about this situation in the comments section below.
