I have no idea what a “twitter” is, so please enter me for the Maxwell book via the comment route. As for our current healthcare problems, I have always been quite conservative, and so I was adamently against socialized medicine for most of my life. But then I saw Sicko by Michael Moore. I watched it fully expecting to hate both the movie and the views that it expressed. Instead, I cried. I cried from the minute it started to the minute it ended. Like Moore, I can’t stand the idea that people are suffering needlessly because they either don’t have insurance, or their insurance doesn’t cover what they need. I don’t know what the answers are, but I do know that what we are doing currently is NOT working. We can do much, much better.
I’m thinking if other countries can insure all their people and doctors are content with the system, we should be able to manage. I’ts about time everyone had health care and more emphasis was on preventive care.
Please enter me. This would be a great “read”. Thanks for the opportunity to win this book.
nice giveaway thanks

The problem is that the doctors aren’t content, and it takes the incentive away from becoming a doctor. This creates a shortage, and long waiting periods for people needing health care. I agree that we need to do something, but health care for all I don’t think is a feasible solution. I do like the idea of more preventative care though.
thanks for the giveaway
I think attitude and your thought process are everything in regards to what happens in your life. There is a strong connection. How successful people think is a great way to reinforce this concept. We’re each powerful, we just have to use it.
Retweeted , hoping to win the book
I have worked in the healthcare system in some capacity or another for over 20 years. My primary focus has been working with individuals with disabilities physical and/or emotional and I have found that far too many programs focus on the medical model. Medical model=find the problem treat it with meds. I find that most people who wish to be integrated useful members of society require a more holistic approach. This is more preventative because it looks at the person in the big pictures and helps them to help themselves become valuable/valued members of society instead of dependent upon the system medically and financially.
Hey Clarky,
It’s a pleasure to follow you on Twitter, Stumble-buddy.
Thanks for being a voice of reason in a sea of insanity.
The health care issue is a thorny one and I honestly don’t know what the best solution might be. I know this much - the current system appears to be broken and there needs to be a fix applied. I do know that a government entity is not the solution.
Cheers
George
i want to win this
I think health insurance should be like car insurance; everybody has to have it. We’re trying to get coverage for everyone and there are people who could have it but simply choose not to. Why should we pay health care for people who are completely capable of paying for it themselves? Sure, we may need to help those who are sincerely poor, but there are a lot of people who simply want to work the system and get something for nothing.
I also have a problem with people who go the emergency room with the sniffles. Drink some water and buy some Vitamin C.

I think our healthcare system needs a complete overhaul. Pharmaceutical companies are out to make as much profit as possible, and they can make more money by treating disease than they can be curing it. There are billions of dollars being funneled into the healthcare system to come up with cures and we haven’t actually cured anything because there’s no money in it. More and more Americans can’t afford their medicines or preventative care. The sooner we get some changes the better it will be for everyone.
a problem with healthcare is that there isn’t enough $$ going to actually helping patients instead of lining everyone’s pockets by preying on the vulnerable
Sorry, but my take on the biggest health care problem this nation faces boils down to the documentable fact that as soon as you set up a trough, you’re going to attract pigs. And if you put regulatory fencing around the trough, you’re going to start selecting for smarter pigs. Not to mention the gymnastic tap-dancing results of simply adding ‘more hoops to jump through’ and ‘procedural steps to master’ into the process… We’ve forced the evolution of a market force which is now so entrenched that we seem to be stuck with it. I’d recommend dynamite.
After watching “Sicko”, it reinforced in me that health care should not be a privilege.
