Fear and More of the Same, not Hope and Change

So I sat down in front of my TV this evening looking forward to another great episode of House. What I got was very disappointing. Our new President had a press conference instead. I wish House had been on as opposed to the fear mongering I was subjected to. I am really sick of hearing the phrase “worst since the Great Depression.” We are in a recession. Things are rough. Guess what, it isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last. At this point, the recession we are currently in can’t even compare to the recessions of the 70’s and 80’s let alone the Great Depression.

“Turning a Crisis into a Catastrophe”

Mr. Hope and Change himself said that. This from the guy who said his election meant Americans had “chosen hope over fear.” Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush each did just fine by cutting taxes. None of them thought that spending a half a TRILLION dollars was needed to avoid a depression. This fear mongering used to shove a crap sandwich down the American taxpayer’s throats is really starting to get on my nerves. This bill is nothing more than the Democrats spending to increase government dependence.

You see, the Democrats figured out a long time ago that the more people they have depending on them, the more people they have voting for them. It doesn’t matter what is best for the country, it is simply what keeps them in power. They can make you dependent on them for health care, housing, food, and anything else you might need. It doesn’t really matter who has to pay for these things. It won’t be you, and it certainly isn’t them as they for some reason find it really hard to pay taxes. A person that depends on the government for everything in life is going to keep voting for the guy who gives it to him.

Unfortunately this does not help that person and it certainly doesn’t help our country. For one, this is the attitude that keeps attracting illegal immigrants. People get so much given to them for nothing it is ridiculous. Have you ever heard the saying, “Give a man a fish you can feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you can feed him for life?” The problem is, if you teach him to fish he doesn’t need you anymore. He might be free to vote for whomever he chooses. That is why you put him on welfare instead.

This isn’t a stimulus package. It is a spending package, and it is a spending package designed to increase dependence on Democrats. Three weeks on the job and all Obama is worried about is getting re-elected. He had a campaign stop in Indiana today and a speech tonight that made me miss House. After 2 years of campaigning, I was hoping we’d get at least a year off before the next one started. Oh well, nobody else is getting what they hoped for either. Fear has taken the place of hope. Change is simply more of the same - an ever increasing national debt.

This is just one of many reasons I have renewed by personal “news boycott.” My one breakdown was going to Digg and reading this article.
