Does Biden Want to Win?
The following is a quote from VP candidate Joe Biden:
It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking…. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy….
I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate… And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you - not financially to help him - we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.
Does this guy want to win?
I’m not really sure if he does or not, but that is beside the point. Look at what he is saying. He is telling us that electing this man will make the world want to start a crisis. It could be Iran with nuclear weapons, Russia invading one of its poor neighbors, al-Qaeda attacking us again, or North Korea doing who knows what. Biden is also telling us that Obama is going to have a weak response.
Do we really want to elect a President that will have a crisis simply because he is elected? Do we want a President that is going to let Iran have nuclear weapons? When Russia invaded Georgia, Senator Obama said the invaded country should show restraint. Really? Does that make sense to anyone? We need to elect a President that has experience when the unexpected hits. None of the issues being debated are going to matter during the next four years. The thing that is going to matter is the thing that nobody can predict. What was debated during the 2000 election? Who cares? September 11th shaped the first term of George W. Bush. Nothing that was talked about in the election mattered in the least compared to the attack on the World Trade Centers. Electing a President is about finding a person with sound judgment. Barack Obama does not qualify. His VP just told us that he is going to be weak when our country will need him to be strong.
