I'm from CT though haven't had much time to keep up with all of the canidates there are now for both the Govenor and Senate seats. Will have to keep an eye on Schiff, had heard of him though didnt know too much of he positin on things. I completely agree with the student loan part of this video. If the govt is going to give loans it should be on a minimal basis or capped, cause if you go get loans for college and the govt gtee's any amount then they arent just helping you go to a college but any colege no matter the price.

Thanks for the comments guys, I obviously agree. One less statistic is a great thing. Background checks are fine with, it isn't too much of an inconvenience. I'm not sure they do much good, just make it a little tougher to get a gun I guess. Pretty much anyone who wants a gun can get one though, so it mostly doesn't matter. I just hate it when people think making it illegal will make guns go away. It just isn't going to happen.

I agree having a ban just allows people who don't care, the criminals, to only be more sure they will have the upper hand. I am all for safety of weapons and background checks to keep them out of dangerous hands but outright bans are ridiculous. Your statement above is straight forward and clear.

The uncertainty of a potential victim's ability to defend himself certainly has an effect on a criminal's mindset. Anecdotally this was true for me about a year ago. A fellow here in Memphis obviously re-thought his actions when I went into a defensive posture with my hand on my gun, which he never saw by the way. He turned and ran away, pipe still in hand. He was definitely a potential threat dissuaded by an alert and probably armed victim - one less statistic that day.
